A thorny and useless topic: the real weapon of mass distraction.
While there are people starving or in war we are here arguing about this crap.
We need a real respect and not this pantomime that slaps and chokes freedom. A new hypocrisy hiding an invisible dictatorship. Blocking freedom of expression. Killing every art form. And the new system’s puppets are being unwittingly used to campaign on these issues. Their popularity influence masses having no interest in taking their own decisions. People who, in the name of a feared justice, let them lead.
What is different from brainwashing used during Nazism? What is most popular is not always most fair.
That's when you look up the definition of politically correct (The expression politically correct designates a line of opinion and a social attitude of extreme attention to formal respect, especially in avoiding offense to particular categories of people." But then, even referring to them as "categories of people" may sound like a "verbal ghettoization").
So, because of this concept, you can no longer say, or even think, certain things. Free art will no longer exist. Comedy and satire will no longer be allowed. It’s deemed to be offensive that two satirical news anchors make almond eyes to imitate the Chinese, while abroad, at best, they call us “pasta and mandolino”.
So only "politically correct" words and of course with a positive vibe, because if you search for negative words on Instagram, check out what pops up... Do you really find this normal? (and by the way… the word "pain" in English is spelled exactly like bread in French!). I don't. I don't find it normal at all.
Refining language is not enough to respect people. It's just form without a real substance. It is not enough to ban some offensive terms for there to be respect.
And then... Refining language? On social media and youtube videos between kids, easy blasphemy spreads... so? Blaspheming is okay? It doesn't hurt anyone?
Values and awareness deriving from them are missing.
No use sweeping the dust under the rug. My house will still be dirty, even if apparently shines. It' s all form uncoupled by any substance.
Too many words, poorer and poorer, and not enough facts. And this keeps producing the stupid consequences caused by this concept.
First of all the “cancel culture”.
Secondly, this do-gooder censorship could lead to a decline whereby, extending to other areas, it would drown Article 21 of the Italian Constitution. It would also force do's and don'ts (to say or not to say), it would upset normal values and it would force actions that could harm human rights.
I am free as an artist and as a person. I know what it means to have respect for others. I don't trade my freedom of expression for success and membership in a system I don't share.
It's all very political, but not even correct!
We are now like at the end of the worst of meals! And I dread to imagine what dessert might be served.
Come on people...open your eyes!!! Open your minds! Before it's too late (or is it already?).
Ostentation is a reflection of self non-acceptance.
