Silversnake Michelle: the name

I mean, that strong but repressed instinct came out of me because of my new motherhood.

Then, how the name of Silversnake Michelle was born?

This condition has cornered me. And then I couldn't help but explode and pull myself out of that shell where I had allowed the others to lock me captive (even if only for good).

So it was my son who delivered me.

By cornering me like that, he made me understand that I was perhaps going against my nature, my desires, myself.

And I gave birth to Silversnake Michelle.

The choice fell on my favorite animal: the snake.

It was meant to be a combination of sensuality, rebirth symbol and immortality. Something in opposition to the meaning ascribed by our culture: sin and temptation, therefore a definitely provocative and stinging symbol.

A cold, lonely, self-sufficient animal.

An animal that, despite his physical limits (no limbs, deaf, often blind…), has evolved other senses adapting itself to hardest environments. As if it would teach us that limits don't exist and that they're just a product of our mind.

Finally Silver represents the middle ground, the meeting between black and white. And it means Balance, Light and Shine.

And Michelle?

It is the English translation of my name in Italian, and it is also a strong connection to "Michelle" the Beatles song, which I obsessively listened to since I was a child. I remember trying to understand the lyrics and constantly sending the tape back and forth to catch the words and write them down. Yes folks, back in the day not all music cassettes had lyrics inside.

Here is the iconic Beatles song "MICHELLE"
